Timmy Mallett

Known best for hosting the popular BBC children's program Wacaday, this British television personality also presented the ITV show Wide Awake Club and the Brilliant TV series Timmy Towers. Also a radio host, he received two 1980s Radio Academy Awards.

After earning a history degree from the University of Warwick, he began his broadcasting career at BBC Radio Oxford. Early in his professional life, he also worked for Piccadilly Radio, Centre Radio, and Radio Luxembourg.

He grew up in Marple, Cheshire, England. His marriage to Lynda Mallett began in 1990.

With famous musical theater composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, Mallett launched an early 1990s band called Bombalurina. The group's cover of "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" peaked at #1 on United Kingdom music charts.
