She wanted to attend art school, but instead pursued a musical career. Her first record deal was with Echo Records.

She has two kids named Clodagh Henwood and Tadhg Properzi. Her first child was with then-boyfriend Simon Henwood. After their breakup she began dating Sebastiano Properzi, whom she had her second child with.

She was featured on a song by Norman Cook and David Byrne called "Don't You Agree?"
