Her previous surname is Liz Marsland. She studied at the Manchester School of Acting and the London School of Musical Theatre.

She married her childhood sweetheart actor Kelvin Fletcher. The couple had four children named Marnie, Milo, and twins Maximus and Mateusz.

In 2023 it was announced she would be cast as Hollyoaks soap opera character Cindy Cunningham, a role that has previously been played by Stephanie Waring.
