Kazuki Takahashi

Cartoonist and artist who created the original "Yu-Gi-Oh!" manga that led to a card game, several animated series, and a wide-reaching franchise. His body was discovered in July of 2022 dead by drowning. It was later reported he was assisting in the rescue of four civilians caught in a rip current.

He began working as a manga artist in 1982, but he didn't gain recognition until 1990 for "Toki? no Tsuma" and for "Tennenshoku Danji Buray" from 1991 until 1992.

He was raised in Tokyo, Japan. He loved shogi, mahjong, and tabletop role-playing games.

He participated in an art exchange with "Hellboy" creator Mike Mignola .
