He grew up with his brother Marc in the small town of Sexten, Italy, where their father and mother worked as a chef and a waitress at a ski lodge. He dated fellow tennis player Anna Kalinskaya from 2024 to 2025. He began dating model Laila Hasanovic in 2025.
