Christiana Figueres

Diplomat who has gained worldwide renown for her career negotiating historical policy, including as a point woman for the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change. She was named the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in 2010 en route to signing the 2015 Paris Agreement.

She graduated with her degree in anthropology from Swarthmore College. She would later gain her master's degree in social anthropology from London School of Economics in 1981.

She shares two daughters named Naima and Yihana with her husband Konrad von Ritter. Her father José Figueres Ferrer was a three-time president of Costa Rica.

She ran against Antonio Guterres during the 2016 UN Secretary General election.
